Welcome to the Cornwall Healthy Schools Annual Audit tool website.

Our Annual Audit is aschool community wellbeing self-assessment tool that can stand alone or be used as part of the process of gaining / maintaining Healthy School status in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Following the scaling back of the National Healthy Schools Programme we have set out to create a tool that is simple and straightforward to use, minimises bureaucracy and is centred on the needs of each individual school whilst still being rigorous.

The Annual Audit is layered to meet different needs:

1. How are we doing?

A 4 point scale self-assessment checklist with helpful prompts and links. The checklist is based on 5 themes,

2. How do we know? (evidence)

You can evidence your responses to the checklist if you feel your practice is meeting the needs of the school community

3. What are we going to do next? (action plan)

If you feel you need to review / improve your practice in any area you can begin to draw together an action plan. The prompts may give you some ideas to get started

4. So what?

As you review your practice and assess evidence you are also asked to write a short impact statement to answer the 'So what?' question.
